Two Hearts
Sumedha, 8th Grade
Two Hearts of both Pleasure and Peace
When fate makes a friendship that fate can not un-do
He sits admiring the view
Lonely he is but what to do?
He dreams of a future lined in gold
While his life in reality was forever sold
Two people sit beside him, entities at most
And they watch the sunrise, over east coast
One blabbers suddenly, speaking of hearts heavy
The other remains silent, eyes are glistening
The first one, yonder tells him that-
“I can give you gold, or even a home”
The ‘he’ first told wonder but then
Is interrupted by the second, who holds a hoe
The second suggest that he may choose
A heart of gold or one to be used?
The boy runs north
The how come forth, stopping his shoes
The blabbering one, steps forward, eyes wicked, face somber
They glint in the moon, then vanish too soon
Back into the neverending night
Both Entities are frozen in fright
The boy they wished to manipulate
All of a sudden’s existence was eliminate
They turn to each other, one angry one calm
Both argued to the nick of dawn
“I want to find hope” the angry one yelled
“Excitement is nope” The cold one told
“He” comes back, laughing at that
Eyes twinkling like stars, though they seem far
“Amusing” he gasps
Makes them take a lap
Angry glares Calm fold
Heart beating fast, but in unison as told
“Two hearts beat fast” he says
“Pleasure and Peace at last
They sink as one
To never be undone
