A River
Samuel, 6th Grade
As it meandered through the heart of the forest,
a single drop of water danced gracefully down the lush,
moss-covered stones.
It skips along the water’s surface and passes a beaver dam,
where the creatures look at it
with the utmost confusion.
Sticks and stones danced
upon the shimmering surface
of the river’s foam.
A waterfall cascades through the valley,
slicing through the landscape with the grace
of a hot knife gliding through butter.
The birds settled on the edges of the cliffs,
their heads curiously gazing into the daunting sky.
The ice at the base of the waterfall flows gracefully with the current.
