5 Days with no parents and fun in wildlife
Outdoor Ed was a fun way to be in the wild with your classmates and friends. I know that you would think that it would be very scary but it really isn’t scary. Because once you are there it is very welcoming.
They will first introduce themselves to you and then they will sing a song about bacteria and fungi. Yes, you heard that right.
Then you will get into your groups or dorms and head to your cabins. There were 2 showers, 2 bathrooms, 2 sinks, and one secret room that we used as a changing room. There were also like 7 or 8 bunk beds so if you want to be alone and don’t have a bunk mate you probably can, but I would recommend bunking to have a buddy when you need it. We also had a lot of free time everyday so I would bring cards or a board game to play with your cabin group!
If you have allergies no problem they can coordinate or you can also bring your own food in advance too. Most of the day though we usually go outside and have activities like hiking or go to the beach depending on which cabin group you are in. While hiking we saw some banana slugs when we walked past some moist spots.
We also have some squirrels and some natural landforms shifting the earth's ground into a crack full of dead trees. Which was pretty cool learning the natural landforms shifting. One day we even went to the garden which was full of plants that the facility
plants, and they even had baby chickens.
