Night Hikes & Owls

Spoiler Alert!  Outdoor Ed was amazing! 

Something I will never forget about Outdoor Ed was the Night Hike. I can still remember hearing the animals in the night; the owls hooting occasionally, the rustling of leaves, or the running of a squirrel. 

I could hear the other groups talking loudly, before it faded away as we slowly walked deeper into the forest. In the blanket of darkness that surrounded me, I could occasionally see the person in front of me or some leaves scattered on the ground. 

When we would look up into the sky, I could see the stars shining, like glitter sprinkled on the night sky. I could smell the wet earth and the soothing scent of leaves. I could feel the cold air as I held the person in front of me to not get lost in the dark forest. 

I will never forget this eye-opening experience because I saw a whole other world that I couldn’t see in the day.
